Assessor's Office Outreach - Oñate Greens

  • Date: 04/16/2025 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Doña Ana County Assessor's Office will mailed out the property notices of value for the 2025 tax year on May 1

**County assessors are generally required to mail them on April 1. However, pending state legislation that affected property tax exemptions for veterans caused the notifications to be mailed a month later this year to all property owners.

If you have any questions about the process for changing a status or filing a protest, staff will be available to help you from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Oñate Greens Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 1625 Spruce Ave. in Las Cruces, NM on Wednesday, April 16.

Report or inquire if any of the following apply:
• You disagree with the valuation and want to file a protest.
• You made improvements or changes of more than $10,000 to your property.
• You need to claim head of family or veteran exemptions.
• You own a mobile or manufactured home, subject to 5% penalty for non-rendition.
• You will be age 65 during the tax year in which the application is being made, and had a modified gross annual income of $42,900 or less in 2025.
• You are declaring the property as agricultural for the first time. (NOTE: annual applications need not be made if the land is presently valued as agricultural. Property owners must report whenever the use of the land changes or when it is no longer being used primarily for agricultural purposes.)
• You are requesting a church or charitable/educational exemption.
• You are declaring the property as residential.
• You are a 100% disabled veteran.
• You own business personal property or livestock.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROPERTY TAX CODE SECTION 7-38-8.

Protests and other types of reporting will not be accepted after June 2, 2025.
